Mr. Franz is a former engineer turned science teacher. He currently teaches High-School Science at Winfree Academy in Irving, Texas.

Webmaster Note:

This is my first real attempt at an education web site. It was originally started because so many good worksheets were found with broken links, or would disappear after I'd found them. Often sites would disappear with no way to access formerly working applets or simulations. I decided to collect all of the worksheets and applets that I used in a single location for my students so they didn't have a million places to go and look. Later, I decided to leave some of the site open for other teachers and students to use. It is primarily based on our curriculum, but others may find it useful.

I've done my best to credit every person who posted a worksheet or simulation on any website for others to use. I am immensly grateful to those teachers hard at work improving the educational experience for all science students.

Sorry that there is some protected content. In keeping with my own educational goals and ethics, I will make anything that I write available to other teachers, but not everyone feels that way. Protected content is predominantly work that is from one of our textbooks, video that we subscribe to, or other sources that are not in the public domain, therefore I cannot post them for general use. They are available only to my students.

There is a new website in the works for Chemistry Teachers. There are so many small schools and school districts with limited resources that I am launching a web site called SmallScaleChemistry.com

Small Scale Chemistry will have as many small scale labs as I can round up, including several that I have written and used myself with students. Some of these labs can be done on a budget, and most can also be done on a student desk without a formal laboratory.

The launch date for the site is Christmas 2010, but you can check the countdown timer on the site to be sure. Eventually the site will have Twitter and Facebook updates for subscribers. They will get updates on new labs, changes, or lab ideas.

It will of course be free for all educational use.
